The site was the last US Army barrack complex to be closed in Germany. Like many other barracks across the country it was repurposed for transit-oriented urban development. The urban design was conceived by the dutch international office MVRDV.

My design contribution occurred during the Concept stage in 2017 for different areas of the public green spaces, among which 6 from the 9 planned playgrounds are hereby displayed.

The main parameters were; to develop an array of distinctive play-themes and usages for different age groups in compliance to playground safety standards. These concepts remained a rough baseline for the further planning and the assignment of playground-manufacturers throughout the years.
